Irish building and civil engineering contractor PJ Hegarty has appointed Barry Casey to its main board as construction director for the Southern Region, recognising more than three decades of leadership and technical delivery across the company's operations, as reported by Irish Building Magazine.
Casey joined PJ Hegarty in 1993 and has served as regional director since 2018. His project credits include Boston Scientific, MSD, Penrose Dock, Nano Nagle Place, the Clarion Hotel and Lapps Quay Development, and the Elysian development in Cork city, spanning the company's commercial, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and residential portfolios.
PJ Hegarty employs more than 500 people and operates across Ireland and the UK with an annual turnover exceeding €500 million. Current projects include the new Citibank headquarters in Dublin Docklands, a programme of works across Dublin and Cork Airports, major data centre and pharmaceutical developments for confidential multinational clients, and the 25-storey Railyard development in Cork, which is Ireland's tallest residential building.
