Engineering Design Consultants (EDC), a Dublin and UK-based MEP, energy and sustainability, and BIM consultancy, has appointed Michelle Kelly as associate director in its Dublin office, recognising her contribution to the firm's growth and reinforcing its leadership structure as it scales across Ireland and the UK.

Irish Building Magazine reported that Kelly has led the MEP and sustainability function in the Dublin office since joining EDC, building client relationships and driving delivery standards across multidisciplinary teams.

In her new role, Kelly will continue to support the strategic development of EDC's Dublin operations and contribute to the company's wider ambitions across Ireland and the UK.

Kelly said she is grateful to step into the role, describing EDC as a company that means what it says about developing its people and adding that the promotion is the most direct evidence of that she could have asked for.

Gareth Murphy, executive director in Dublin, said Kelly has played a key role in the progression of the Dublin office since joining, describing her ability to bring teams together across disciplines as having had a clear impact on how EDC operates.

Richard O'Farrell, managing director of EDC, said Kelly leads with integrity, brings people with her, and holds the standard, and that having leaders of her calibre in the Dublin office is exactly what the firm's next phase of growth requires.

EDC operates offices in Ireland, the UK, and Turkey, and is recognised for its integrated approach to MEP design, energy and sustainability engineering, and digital delivery through BIM.
