Alanna Homes has secured financing from Bank of Ireland for the Plovers Wood Housing Project in Co. Westmeath, a 576-unit mixed-tenure residential scheme being delivered under a licence agreement with Westmeath County Council.

Think Business reported that the development will deliver a community hub and two creches alongside the residential units, with 30% of the overall scheme allocated to social housing.

Each unit will be constructed to a minimum BER A3 rating, reflecting Alanna Homes and Bank of Ireland's shared commitment to energy-efficient, environmentally responsible development.

Brian Gaffney, head of Residential and Development Finance at Bank of Ireland Corporate and Commercial Banking, said delivering much needed homes across the country is a key priority for the bank, adding that mixed tenure schemes such as Plovers Wood will be critical in that delivery.

Tom Freeman, development director at Alanna Homes, said the firm is delighted to complete its latest transaction with Bank of Ireland, which secures financing for the Plovers Wood development, and described the project as a new opportunity to partner with Westmeath County Council in providing new homes to serve the community. Freeman added that the firm deeply values the flexible and constructive relationship it has built with Bank of Ireland and looks forward to partnering on future strategic initiatives.

The Plovers Wood scheme marks the latest in a series of collaborations between Alanna Homes and Bank of Ireland. Bank of Ireland is currently supporting the construction of 26,000 homes across 214 sites in 21 counties.

The Alanna Homes team has delivered more than 20,000 homes into the Irish market, alongside a number of hotels, office developments, and mixed-use redevelopment schemes across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the US.
