The Design Concept Award celebrates organisations or practices within the architecture and construction sectors that have demonstrated outstanding vision and creativity through a design concept developed within the past 12 months. Whether it is a pioneering proposal, a competition entry, or an innovative design solution that reimagines the built environment, this award recognises concepts that push boundaries, challenge convention, and showcase the future of architecture and design. Submissions must clearly outline the design concept and its potential impact on the industry or society. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear presentation of the concept and evidence of its originality, relevance, and potential, paying particular attention to the criteria listed below.
- Concept Outline: Describe the idea, inspiration, and key features.
- Creativity & Innovation: Show how it breaks convention with fresh solutions.
- Feasibility: Explain how it could work in practice and benefit users/communities.
- Impact: Highlight potential long and short-term influence on design and sustainability.
- Excellence: Demonstrate vision, presentation quality, and standout ideas.
- Testimonials: Add supporting feedback or endorsements.
