Once you have created your PDF submission and you have all items in the Items Checklist, submit your entry via the Online Entry Form. CLICK HERE.

This award will reward the construction of a building on the Island of Ireland that is an Ultra-low energy building and demonstrates that they use very little energy to heat and cool them. The award is only open to Net-Zero/passive House projects. Who can enter: the project architect (individuals, firms, departments), or a project collaborator (if submitted jointly with the architect). If you are not the main project architect, please ensure you have their permission to enter as we can only accept one submission per project. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for a clear plan and evidence that it is delivering on core objectives, paying attention to the criteria listed below:

  • Background: Please outline your career background or your organisation’s background.
  • Project: Describe the project. Include photos and floorplans as well as details such as timeline, size, budget, green ratings, purpose, etc.
  • Excellence: How was the project approached and completed? What design and construction processes were used to ensure excellence in sustainability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort? What makes this building stand out as a Net Zero/Passive House project?
  • Challenges: Please highlight any challenges faced during the project, and how they were overcome.
  • Impact: What steps were taken to ensure that the design and construction processes were in keeping with Net Zero/Passive House standards? What was done to ensure that the operation of the building itself will adhere to these same standards?
